At Hunters Creek, located at 130 London Road, Boston, a heartwarming story of initiative and teamwork recently unfolded in the communal gardens. Vilius, one of our valued residents, took notice of the unruly lawn and expressed his desire for it to look its best. Recognising the importance of keeping the environment joyful and tidy, the care team sprang into action, readying the lawnmower for its seasonal debut.
What made the moment even more special was Vilius’s eagerness to tackle the task himself. Our dedicated staff quickly collaborated to ensure he could safely take on this responsibility. The day began with Home Manager Becky preparing the necessary risk assessments, while Deputy Manager Ed provided Vilius with expert advice on the safe operation of the mower.
Guided by our enthusiastic Activities Lead, Tyler, Vilius set to work, spending precious time groomin the garden over two lovely afternoons. His effort shone brightly through every stroke of the mower, igniting a wave of encouragement from all staff members.
The satisfaction on Vilius’s face told a powerful story of accomplishment and joy. Enabling residents to engage in normal, everyday activities can have a remarkable impact on their mental well-being. To honour Vilius’s hard work and spirit of commitment, a special treat is on the horizon—a well-deserved recognition of his incredible efforts.
Thank you, Vilius, for brightening our community and inspiring us all with your dedication!
