Valentine’s Day Joy at Gateford Lodge Care Home: Live Music, Afternoon Tea and Heartfelt Celebrations

Love was truly in the air at Gateford Lodge as residents came together to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a joyful party filled with live music, afternoon tea and a cheeky glass of Prosecco. The special event brought smiles, laughter and connection — creating a day to remember for everyone involved.

Residents spent the week preparing for the love-filled celebration, taking part in creative activities such as making handcrafted lanterns and table decorations to set the scene. The lifestyle team also helped residents feel their best for the occasion, offering hair washes, blow-dries and beautifully painted nails so everyone could step into the party ready to dance and enjoy the festivities.

The Valentine’s afternoon tea was a highlight, featuring homemade sandwiches, scones and pastries lovingly shaped as hearts to embrace the romantic theme. Guests enjoyed freshly brewed tea and coffee, and for a special touch, a small glass of Prosecco topped with a sweet strawberry — the perfect toast to friendship and celebration.

Live entertainment came courtesy of local singer Brian Couldwell, whose soulful renditions of classic love songs by legends such as Elvis, Frank Sinatra and Freddie Mercury filled the room with music and nostalgia. Feet were tapping, hands were clapping and the atmosphere buzzed with energy as residents enjoyed every moment.
