Trent Bridge Care Home in West Bridgford recently celebrated its vibrant Multicultural Open Day, bringing together residents, families and members of the local community for a joyful day of culture, music and connection. The event highlighted the diverse backgrounds and experiences that help make Trent Bridge such a welcoming and inclusive care home.
The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as performances unfolded from talented entertainers throughout the day. Amy and the Paper Kites enchanted the audience with their melodic performances, while the uplifting rhythms of Joobi, a skilled African drummer, energised everyone present.
Residents, visitors and team members enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about different cultures, traditions and experiences, creating meaningful conversations and strengthening community connections.
A feast of culinary delights awaited guests thanks to the dedicated catering team and volunteers who prepared a diverse menu featuring flavours from around the world. The event showcased the importance of bringing people together through food, music and shared experiences.
Alongside the food, local artisan Nana May displayed her handmade cards, while Sarah, the day’s face painter, added a splash of colour and fun to the celebrations.
Hazel from the Alzheimer Awareness Charity attended the event to provide valuable information and support for residents, families and visitors. Events such as these help strengthen community engagement while promoting awareness and understanding of conditions such as dementia.
