On a very rainy day in the summer month of July 2023, Toray Pines Care Home hosted their Summer Fayre.
Rain would not spoil our fun and we carried on with a wet weather program for the Fayre. Our residents home made, brightly coloured hibiscus flower bunting was up in the reception area, ready to greet all our visitors. Team members arrived and started setting up an already decorated home. Bunting and balloons galore everywhere
Cakes, sweets, water and wine, drinks, tombola, raffle, teddies, burgers, chips, hotdogs and stalls were just some of the days treats.
Aaron and Tyga were our amazing vocalists, entertaining us with a wonderful and wide range of music to suit everyone.
Our doors opened at 11am and we were inundated with wonderful visitors, families, friends, past residents, team members and their families too, everyone laughing and enjoying everything they did.
There were over 115 raffle prizes which is a record amount for us. Donations from local businesses, friends, families, team members and team members families too. All who we can’t thank enough and without their wonderful and ongoing support events like this would not be so successful.
We are proud to say that, so far we have raised over £825 for our residents fund, but donations are still coming in. We were also gifted back the 3rd prize in the raffle, Harley the Hound, a giant cuddly toy dog which we are raffling off again to find his forever home, which will add to that amount.
We would like to say a very big THANK YOU to everyone that supported us at Toray Pines, the whole team, families and friends made it a magnificent and enjoyable day.
Home Manager Sherin Kandi said, ‘Myself and the entire team at Toray Pines are ecstatic with our summer fayre success. At Toray Pines we are dedicated to the care of residents and focused on their happiness and wellbeing. Every member of our team makes contributions and a difference. We are thrilled that our hard work has been recognised through this incredible event and we will be celebrating many more in the near future with our wonderful residents and their families.’
Activities Co Ordinator Kim said ‘What an amazing day we had, everyone enjoyed themselves and the rain never dampened anyone’s spirits. Thank you to us all.’
