Tanglewood Care Homes Celebrates Two ‘Outstanding’ CQC Ratings

Tanglewood Care Homes is celebrating a major milestone. Two of our newest care homes, Humberston House in Grimsby and Holbeach Meadows in Holbeach, have both received an overall ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Both homes achieved the highest possible rating following their first CQC inspections. The results reflect our strong commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care for older people across Lincolnshire.

Excellence in Care at Humberston House, Grimsby

Humberston House is a 72-bed, purpose-built care home on Blackthorn Avenue in Grimsby. The home opened in November 2023.

After an inspection between September and October 2025, the CQC praised the team’s “wonderfully caring and considerate staff.” Inspectors also noted a culture where staff go “above and beyond” to meet residents’ wishes.

Residents said the home feels “like a hotel.” Families described the care as “first-class” and the staff as “second to none.”

A Supportive Community at Holbeach Meadows

Holbeach Meadows Care Home in Holbeach, near Spalding, also received an overall ‘Outstanding’ rating.

Inspectors described the 66-bed home as “a vibrant, nurturing place where people can thrive.” The home achieved ‘Outstanding’ ratings in the Caring, Effective, and Well-Led categories.

The CQC highlighted the team’s commitment to continuous improvement and their creative approach to wellbeing. Inspectors noted that residents feel safe, respected, and well supported.

Supporting Dignity, Choice, and Independence

Across both reports, the CQC praised strong leadership and compassionate staff teams.
