Two Tanglewood Care Homes Named in Lottie Awards Top 100 2026

We’re delighted to share that two Tanglewood Care Homes have been named among the UK’s Top 100 Care Homes in the Lottie Awards 2026.

Holbeach Meadows in Spalding and Meadows Park in Louth have both earned their place in this year’s Top 100, alongside care homes from across England, Scotland and Wales recognised by Lottie in its second annual awards.

For everyone at Tanglewood care homes, it is a wonderful recognition of the people who make our homes what they are. From our dedicated care and co-ordination teams to the residents, families and local communities who bring so much life and personality to our care homes.

What are the Lottie Awards?

The Lottie Awards celebrate care homes and care providers across the UK, with the Top 100 recognising homes assessed against a range of different criteria.

The Lottie awards don’t look only at one aspect of a care home in isolation, instead they use seven weighted categories in its assessment. Their teams look at the experience from a person’s first enquiry through to the care and teams behind each home.

For Tanglewood to have two homes included in the UK Top 100 is something we are incredibly proud of.

But behind any award are the everyday experiences that contributed to it, the conversations, friendships, activities and relationships that make a care home feel like home.

Why Holbeach Meadows Stands Out

At Holbeach Meadows care home, residents have a genuine say in how life within the home takes shape.

Activities are influenced by residents’ interests and suggestions rather than following a one-size-fits-all programme. Residents have helped introduce new indoor games including miniature golf and table tennis, while popular pub quiz evenings bring residents, relatives and team members together for drinks, snacks, friendly competition and plenty of laughter.

The home also has strong links with the wider Holbeach community. Regular intergenerational sessions with local children include singing, crafts, sensory play and games, creating friendships across generations and giving residents opportunities to remain connected with community life.

Animal-assisted activities have become another much-loved part of the calendar. Therapy dogs Jessie and Freddie visit residents throughout the home, including people who prefer to spend time in their bedrooms, while other animal therapy sessions have introduced residents to everything from rabbits and guinea pigs to tortoises and bearded dragons.

For residents living with dementia, familiar everyday routines are also an important part of life. They are supported to remain involved in meaningful tasks such as to lay tables, fold laundry and pair socks, to help keep independence and a sense of purpose.

These are the kinds of everyday experiences that define Holbeach Meadows: give residents the option, listen to what matters to them and find meaningful ways for people to stay involved in the life around them.

Life and Community at Meadows Park

Community connection is equally important at Meadows Park in Louth.

Residents, families and team members regularly come together for fundraising and community events, while the home has developed relationships with a wide range of local organisations.

That community spirit can be seen in initiatives like donations of fruit and veg grown in the home’s gardens to the Louth Community Larder, or the support of local football through its relationship with Louth Town FC and fundraising initiatives like Children in Need.

Residents are also supported to stay connected with the places and experiences they enjoy outside the home. Trips have included visits to a local garden centre and bowls club, as well as outings to watch local football. These experiences give residents opportunities to get out into the community, meet people and continue enjoying familiar interests.

Back at the home, the calendar is just as varied. Residents enjoy everything from flower arrangement sessions and gentle Fun and Fitness to gardening, live music and other activities. Intergenerational visits from children at Limes Play and Learn have brought different generations together through games, crafts and conversation.

The home’s Wish Tree is another example of how activities can be shaped around the individual, encouraging residents to share personal wishes that the team can help turn into meaningful experiences. Whether it’s a big community event or a quiet afternoon spent gardening, it’s the individual moments and connections that make life at Meadows Park distinctive.

Celebrating Our Award-Winning Care Teams

The Lottie Top 100 is an achievement we are delighted to celebrate, but it is also an opportunity to recognise the people behind both homes. Our teams get to know the people they support, their routines, interests, stories and the things that make a good day for them.

They also create opportunities for residents to continue to contribute, make choices and stay connected with the people and communities around them.
