Tanglewood announced as winners of the 2023 Sunflower challenge

If you have been following us since the spring, you will be aware that we entered into the 2023 Grantham Sunflower challenge. Organised by the Grantham Rotary club in order to raise money for the disaster response fund for the people of the Ukraine.

We were very proud to discover on the closing day of the competition that despite it not really having been a good year for growing sunflowers, our tallest sunflower had reached 10ft and 1 inch!

It has grown about another foot since then with the recent hot sunny weather.

This morning I received an email from the rotary club informing us that we have won, and we won by just 1 inch. We are all very excited by this.

There will be a prize giving towards the end of this month. What makes this even more special is, the contribution we have made as an organisation to support those whose lives have been affected by the war.
