Cloverleaf Care Home’s Summer Fayre was a huge success! The event brought together residents, families, staff, and the local community for a fun-filled afternoon of laughter, entertainment, and sunshine.
This year, the weather was on our side, allowing us to set up for the exciting day ahead without a hitch. Outdoor seating areas were quickly filled with Fayre-goers who enjoyed the beautiful warmth of the sun while spending quality time with their loved ones.
The event featured a variety of attractions, including a tombola and several stalls. One special stall was run by the residents themselves, showcasing their handmade summer bunting, flower-printed cards, and delicious cakes baked especially for the day.
A sizzling BBQ was on hand, offering sausages and burgers, while a well-stocked bar provided a variety of drinks for everyone to enjoy. One of the highlights of the afternoon was the visit from the ‘Party Delights’ ice cream van, where many cooled off with a classic ’99—always a crowd-pleaser!
For the little ones, ‘Meg-A-Bounce’ delivered a fantastic Disney-themed bouncy castle complete with a slide, keeping the children entertained for hours. The fun didn’t stop there, as ‘Helen Paints’ was on hand at the face-painting station, creating colorful designs for kids and adults alike.
Music filled the air thanks to a live performance by Rebekah Austin, who delighted everyone with songs spanning the decades. Residents couldn’t resist joining in, singing along to their favorite hits, while others put on their dancing shoes and enjoyed a bit of a boogie.
The afternoon wrapped up with an exciting raffle draw featuring more than 30 fabulous prizes, including generous donations from local businesses like Tesco, Heighington Spar, Play Zone, Fun Farm, Kinema in the Woods, and Jump Inc. Beautifully decorated hampers were also up for grabs. The Fayre raised an impressive £700 for the residents’ fund—a true testament to the amazing support from the team, families, and the local community.
It’s safe to say that a fantastic afternoon was had by all!
Margaret, the wife of a resident, shared, “What a lot of hard work went into organizing that. Well done to all the staff.”
Alison, daughter of a resident, added, “Great afternoon. Thank you to the team for a fantastic event!… adults’ bouncy castle next year please!.”
Sandie and Les, the daughter and son-in-law of a resident, also said, “Thank you for a lovely afternoon, Hayley and the team!”
