Cloverleaf Care Home welcomed the New Year in truly joyful style after residents shared how they wanted to celebrate the occasion. Their choice was clear – a lively karaoke afternoon, with family and friends invited to join the fun – and the result was a heart-warming celebration filled with music, laughter and special memories.
The home was buzzing with excitement as residents selected their favourite songs, with many bravely taking to the microphone for solo performances while others joined in cheerful group sing-alongs. Several residents couldn’t resist getting up to dance, creating an energetic and uplifting atmosphere that carried through the afternoon.
A selection of favourite drinks was enjoyed, including wine, port, Buck’s Fizz, Baileys and lemonade, alongside a surprise New Year cocktail which proved very popular. The fun continued as residents and loved ones posed with New Year photo props, capturing plenty of smiles and happy moments to treasure.
As the afternoon drew to a close, everyone joined together for a countdown from ten before the home’s manager, Tracey, set off a confetti cannon to welcome the New Year in style. The celebration ended on a particularly special note, with residents, families and staff linking voices to sing Auld Lang Syne together.
The festivities then continued with a New Year buffet, enjoyed by residents, families and friends alike – a perfect way to round off a day focused on connection, choice and celebration.
Terry, husband of a resident, said: “It was a very good afternoon and I really enjoyed myself.”
Karen, daughter of a resident, added: “It was so nice seeing Mum singing along and enjoying herself.”
It was a wonderful start to the New Year at Cloverleaf Care Home, filled with music, laughter and the warmth of being together.
