Residents at Richard House Care Home enjoyed an exciting and educational afternoon when ZooLab paid a special visit, bringing along a fascinating selection of creatures from around the world.
The interactive session gave residents the chance to meet several unusual animals up close, including Shelly the three-year-old snail, Lowla the Madagascan hissing cockroach, Fiery the 12-year-old Mexican flame leg tarantula, Milo the millipede, Abby the three-year-old snake, and Tiny the gecko.
Throughout the afternoon, residents learned a range of interesting facts about the animals, their habitats and behaviours. Many of those taking part showed great bravery by stroking — and in some cases even holding — the creatures, making for a truly memorable experience.
The visit sparked plenty of smiles and laughter, with a few surprised reactions along the way, and staff members were just as enthusiastic about getting involved.
Leading the session was David the ranger, whose knowledge and friendly approach helped make the event both fun and informative for everyone involved.
Staff at Richard House Care Home said the visit was a wonderful opportunity for residents to experience something different and engaging, and they were delighted to see so many people enjoying the afternoon.
The care home would like to extend a huge thank you to ZooLab and to David for delivering such a fantastic and memorable experience.
