Richard House Hosts Egg-citing Easter Bake Off with Community Celebration

We’ve had an egg-cellent time taking part in our Tanglewood Has Taste competition, where all of our homes go head-to-head to be crowned the winner! This month’s theme was an Easter Bake Off, and each floor rose to the challenge by creating their own delicious sweet treats. The creations included an Easter Bark Tray, Easter Rocky Road, and Easter Cracker Cookies. Everyone worked incredibly hard mixing, decorating, and, of course, having lots of fun along the way.

To decide on our winning Easter treat, we hosted ‘The Great Easter Bake & Brew’ afternoon. Family, friends, and members of the local community joined us to sample each creation and cast their votes. It was wonderful to see so many people come together to enjoy the occasion.

Our talented kitchen team also worked their magic, preparing an array of delicious bakes to complement the competition entries. These included a classic Victoria sponge, lemon & lime loaf, lemon & lime sponge, vanilla loaf, and some adorable chick and bunny sponges. All the treats went down beautifully with a cup of tea or coffee.

With the sun shining, we made the most of the beautiful weather and spent the afternoon in the garden, soaking up the warmth while enjoying the tasty delights—simply delicious!

Our fluffy chicks joined us too and were a big hit, receiving lots of attention from everyone. We were also lucky enough to have a special visit from the Easter Bunny, who revealed the winning treat… congratulations to the Cracker Cookies!
