Richard House Celebrates VE Day in Style with Community Street Party

Our team transformed the dining area with vibrant red, white and blue decorations inspired by the Union Jack, creating a wonderful traditional street party atmosphere for residents, families and guests to enjoy.

The kitchen team prepared an impressive spread of delicious food, including jacket potatoes with a variety of fillings such as coronation chicken, chilli and tuna, alongside a selection of classic buffet favourites to suit every taste. Residents also enjoyed a traditional trifle for dessert, followed by freshly served scones with cream and jam.

Following lunch, the celebrations continued with a lively wartime singalong, as everyone waved their flags and joined in with the music together. The atmosphere throughout the day was truly fantastic, and it was lovely to welcome families, friends and members of the local community to share such a meaningful occasion with us.
