Residents Bring Garden Wishes to Life Through Community Support

Residents are enjoying the exciting transformation of their garden after helping to create a special wish list of flowers and plants they hoped to see growing in the outdoor space.

As part of the ongoing garden project, residents shared their favourite flowers and gardening ideas, creating a wish list designed to bring colour and enjoyment to the garden throughout the year. The project took a wonderful step forward when resident Doreen joined Hayley on a visit to a local garden centre to select plants from the list.

Using funds raised through the Residents’ Fund, Doreen thoroughly enjoyed helping choose a beautiful selection of flowers and plants, sharing her gardening knowledge and favourite blooms along the way. Residents were delighted to see their chosen flowers arrive and are looking forward to watching the garden come to life over the coming weeks.

The home would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported the Residents’ Fund, particularly those who contributed at the recent Spring Fair. Their generosity has played a vital role in helping turn residents’ ideas and wishes into reality.

Special thanks also go to the families of residents who kindly donated additional flowers for the garden project. Their ongoing support and generosity continue to make the home and its gardens an even more enjoyable place for residents, visitors and staff alike.

The Gardening Club has also been busy planting a selection of herbs, alongside vegetables and beautiful forget-me-nots. Residents have enjoyed spending time outdoors caring for the growing plants, creating opportunities for meaningful activity, social interaction and wellbeing.

Watching both the garden and residents flourish together has been truly special, with the project bringing smiles, pride and a strong sense of community to everyone involved.

Jenna, granddaughter of a resident, praised the initiative, saying: “I love this so much, Hayley. You’re doing an amazing job with the residents. It’s so nice to see. They all look so happy.”

As the garden continues to grow, residents are excited to see the results of their hard work and enjoy the colourful outdoor space they helped create.
