Resident Shares Heartfelt Thanks with Hospital Team on National Give Something Away Day

A touching gesture of gratitude saw one York Care Home resident return to Hull Royal Infirmary to thank the team who provided her with exceptional care and support during her recovery.

Mary, a resident at York Care Home, wanted to show her appreciation to the incredible team on Ward 5 Neurological Care, who cared for her following her brain surgery. To mark National Give Something Away Day, Mary created a heartfelt handwritten card and prepared a selection of treats to personally thank the staff who made such a positive difference during her time in hospital.

Accompanied by Carla, Mary returned to the ward to share her message of thanks and let the team know just how much their compassion, kindness and dedication had meant to her.

The visit was a wonderful reminder that even the smallest acts of appreciation can have a lasting impact. Mary’s thoughtful gesture brought smiles to the team and highlighted the meaningful connections that can be created between healthcare professionals and those they care for.

Mary was also delighted to see Laura, a member of the team who remembered her and took the time to come and say hello, making the visit even more special.
