We are delighted to share a beautiful new addition to our garden here at Beeston Rise Care Home: a bench lovingly donated by Ivan’s family in his memory.
Sadly, we lost Ivan in May. He was a true gentleman who had a knack for bringing laughter and joy to those around him. Ivan lived here with his wife, Jean, in one of our companion rooms. As you may recall, we previously shared the touching story of their reunion after being apart for five weeks, a significant separation given their 69 years of marriage. Their joy at being together again was palpable, and they cherished their time in their companion room until Ivan’s passing.
Ivan is deeply missed by everyone here at Beeston Rise, especially by his family, who continue to visit frequently, as Jean now resides with us. The new bench in our garden, adorned with a plaque in Ivan’s memory, provides a serene spot for Jean, her family, and everyone at Beeston Rise to sit and reflect on cherished memories of Ivan.
Jean has found comfort in this beautiful addition to our garden. While she enjoys her own space in her room, the bench has encouraged her to spend more time outdoors, allowing her to connect with Ivan’s memory in a special way.
Ivan’s presence is greatly missed, but the love and support for Jean remain strong here at Beeston Rise. We are committed to fostering beautiful moments and creating a nurturing environment where cherished memories can be honoured and shared.
