At Cedar Falls, excitement was in the air as residents gathered around to marvel at an unexpected yet delightful delivery. Thanks to the incredible generosity of Spalding United Football Club, a large donation of pumpkins—massive ones, no less—arrived at our doorstep, in preparation for Halloween. These weren’t just ordinary pumpkins; they were huge, and there were plenty to go around. They also provided pumpkin carving kits, decorations and sweets for our residents to enjoy too
It all started after a conversation with Vicki Barnett, the General Manager of Spalding United, who kindly arranged the donation. As we spoke, it became clear that this was just the beginning of a wonderful partnership between Cedar Falls and Spalding Football Club. Vicki hinted at even more exciting plans for the future, which we are eager to explore together.
For now, though, the residents can’t wait to get started on carving these gigantic pumpkins, a fun activity organised with the help of our Lifestyle Coordinators. We are truly grateful to Spalding Football Club and we look forward to many more wonderful moments to come.
Creative sessions like pumpkin carving are just one part of our therapeutic care home resident activities, which also include regular visits from friendly animals.
