York Manor is an elegant 72-bed purpose-built care home that seamlessly integrates modern design with comfortable living. Each bedroom is spacious, filled with natural light, and paired with ensuite wet-room facilities. In addition to spacious single rooms, York Manor also has three companion rooms available for couples or close companions, so they can stay together in comfort.

Providing both residential and dementia care, the dedicated team at York Manor, with input from residents and relatives, will assist in personalising each bedroom with beloved paintings, photographs, and furnishings.

LifeLibrary is an easy-to-use app that allows carers and families to build a digital memory book for each resident. This shared resource helps carers provide personalised care, strengthens communication, and creates opportunities for meaningful engagement and activities.

For families, LifeLibrary provides a valuable connection to their loved ones, offering a window into their daily lives at the care home. By contributing photos, stories, and updates, families become active participants in their loved one’s care journey, fostering a sense of closeness. For families who can’t visit every day, LifeLibrary provides priceless peace of mind by keeping them connected and updated on their loved one’s life.

Home Manager

Rachel French

Rachel started her career in Health and Social care in 2009 as a care assistant.

In 2012, she took up the post of senior carer for a small, family-run business consisting of three homes. During her seven years working for that company, she progressed from a level 3 to a level 5 NVQ in Health and Social Care. While working there she discovered that her passion was complex dementia care, and in 2017, she took on the post of registered manager.

In the summer of 2018, Rachel left to take on different challenges, managing a further two care homes that were in need of lots of support. Rachel loved creating good working relationships with main stakeholders and improving the reputation of each service.

Rachel always places residents’ best interests at the forefront of her decision-making. She is passionate and dedicated, and it brings her great satisfaction to know that her residents live in a happy home, and that her staff work in a happy workplace.
