Tanglewood care home is located on Louth Road in Horncastle. The convenient location of Tanglewood also allows easy access to the intriguing shops of Horncastle, which have earned the town the unofficial title of ‘antiques centre of the world’.
The 54-bed care home offers comfortable lounge / dining areas, sunlounges and ensuite facilities. Within the beautiful, landscaped gardens Tanglewood Care Home also provides 4 self-contained bungalows. The bungalows offer residents the chance to have an independent style of living whilst still receiving the benefits of a fully serviced care home on their doorstep.

Drop into Tanglewood for coffee morning, every Wednesday from 10.30am to 12pm. There's tea, coffee and something sweet, plus a friendly welcome from residents and the team. No booking needed, just come along.
Every Wednesday, 11am
Join us every Wednesday at 11am for a fun, seated Zumba session, suitable for ages 50 and over. Held at Tanglewood Horncastle, with a small donation welcome towards residents' activities.

We support local causes and events throughout the year. These include Macmillan coffee mornings and Children in Need fundraisers, which bring together residents, staff, and neighbours. Our team also arranges outings to places such as Louth Town Hall. Care home activities include Paralympic-inspired garden games, armchair travel experiences to places such as Denmark, and therapeutic visits from heavy horses. Each activity supports wellbeing, enjoyment, and connection.

Since opening its doors in 1989, Tanglewood has been beautifully maintained and has subsequently undergone extensive refurbishment. Spacious and bright bedrooms offer the comforts of a true home away from home. Residents are encouraged to personalise their own space, and maintenance teams are always on hand to hang that cherished family photo.

Residents can enjoy on-site services that support comfort and self-care. These include regular visits from our nail technician for pampering and relaxation. Recent moments have created lasting memories for our residents such as a celebration of a 77th wedding anniversary and taking part in mental health awareness activities to bring residents and their families together.

Our caring community provides a new beginning for our residents and peace of mind for their loved ones. The beauty of Tanglewood care home is that life doesn’t stop, it is the start of a new chapter. During the summer months, the home’s delightfully manicured grounds provide the ideal setting to enjoy time with friends and loved ones.
Residents help prepare for the Spalding Flower Parade, and families gather in our gardens for relaxed afternoon teas.
During the winter months, residents spend time in our cosy lounges and attend regular prayer services. We also run our Winter Warmer initiative, offering hot meals to people from the Horncastle community.
In keeping with the Tanglewood philosophy, guests are welcome any time. There are no set visiting hours.

I started my journey as a support worker in 2016. I have a wealth of knowledge from working in various different settings, in varied roles with different client groups.
I am committed and passionate about providing a safe, welcoming and happy home for the people that live, visit and work at the service. Prioritising the physical, emotional and social needs of our residents and staff.
My proudest achievement has been being nominated for the Care Home Registered Manager Award for the Lincolnshire Care Awards two years running by the staff and residents at my previous service. I won the award in March 2024 and remain dedicated and proud of the work I do to make a real difference to people’s lives.
