Sandpiper care home offers Residential, Dementia, Palliative, Respite and Day Care.

Sandpiper is located on South Street in the idyllic market town of Alford. Alford is regionally known for its crafts markets held at the historic Alford Corn Exchange that features the works of local artists and crafts people.

Sandpiper is a 30-bed care home boasting a hair salon, bar, and comfortable lounge areas. Sandpiper offers their residents an independent lifestyle whilst also providing 24/7-person centred care. Sandpiper offers something for everybody, the day to day needs of our residents are taken care of, whilst independence is maintained.

Facilities

This purpose-built home has been beautifully maintained since it opened in 1991, and subsequently has undergone extensive refurbishment. Spacious and bright bedrooms offer the comforts of a true home away from home. Residents are encouraged to personalise their own space, and maintenance teams are always on hand to hang that cherished family photo.

Life at Sandpiper

We fundamentally believe that life doesn’t stop when you enter a Tanglewood Care Home – our caring community offers the start of a new chapter and new beginnings for our residents, and the peace of mind for their loved ones. Residents can decide the pace of life that suits them best. In the summer Sandpipers gardens provide an ideal setting for visiting, guests are welcome at any time, there are no set visiting hours.

Home Manager

Charlotte Dury

I have worked in the care sector for the last 15 years, I have worked in a number of different roles, and in different settings. I have worked in the mental health sector, older adults services as well as younger adults. Through experience I have found that older adult services are my real passion. I have previously managed a supported living service, so looking forward to the new challenge of working with my Team at Sandpiper, in the care home setting . I started my journey with Tanglewood as a night senior carer, and progressed to Deputy Care Manager, before my recent promotion to home Manager.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, and eating out…I am a foodie. I have a Dog ‘ Charlie’ who we rescued 11 years ago. He has gone from a shy, timid boy, Mischievous and very naughty. We also have a cat ’Willow’ and a bearded dragon ‘ Cleo’.

I am looking forward to getting to know all the residents, my colleagues, and resident families here at Sandpiper. Everyone has been so welcoming, and the atmosphere is one of a true family environment
