Opening Our Doors: Gateford Lodge Celebrates a Special Grand Opening

Gateford Lodge Care Home recently opened its doors to the local community for a special Open Day, and the event proved to be a wonderful success. Visitors were welcomed into a home filled with energy, warmth and a strong sense of togetherness, making it a memorable occasion for residents, families, staff and guests alike.

One of the most meaningful moments of the day was the official ribbon cutting, carried out by Sheila, Gateford Lodge’s very first resident, alongside the Chief of Bassetlaw, Tony Eaton. The ceremony marked an important milestone for the home and reflected the strong connections being built between Gateford Lodge and the wider community.

Luke, Home Manager at Gateford Lodge, said:

“Gateford Lodge was full of energy on the day – it was fantastic to welcome everyone in and really show off the home and the team. The atmosphere was brilliant and it was great to see so much pride in what we do.”

Sheila also shared how honoured she felt to be part of the celebration, saying:

“I was very happy to be chosen to cut the ribbon. It made me feel special to be part of the open day and I really enjoyed celebrating Gateford Lodge with everyone.”
