Residents at Trent Bridge care home in West Bridgford enjoyed a day of glitz and glamour ahead of Mothers Day this year. The care home support team turned the home into a professional styling studio for a special ‘Glam Gran’ makeover and photoshoot.
To celebrate the wonderful mothers in the care home community, we invited a professional team of stylists to give makeovers to residents and their families. The lovely ladies enjoyed makeovers with styled hair, make up and a glass of chilled prosecco before stepping in front of the camera. The results of the Mothers day makeover day at the care home were heartwarming. Rosabel Moris, aged 99, beamed after her makeover. She told us, “I’ve never felt more beautiful,”. For 92-year-old Gloria Hayes, the day fulfilled a lifelong ambition of hers. “I’ve always dreamed of being the centre of attention and being treated like a model”.
At the West Bridgford, Nottingham care home, the event focused on the deep connections between our residents and their loved ones. Children joined their mothers for the professional photoshoot, creating beautiful keepsake photographs that families will treasure for years.
Pam, Gloria’s daughter, thanked the team for “the most beautiful day and amazing memory with my mum.”

At Trent Bridge, we design our activities to enrich lives and celebrate the milestones that matter.
The Nottingham care home manager Luke Staples shared his pride in the event. “We love providing these experiences for our wonderful residents. The smiles and laughter in our salon were heartwarming. These photographs give families something to treasure forever.”
The celebrations continue this week. Our chefs are currently preparing a special Mother’s Day afternoon tea to help our residents create even more joyful memories.

At Tanglewood, we create a care home atmosphere where people feel connected, valued and comfortable. Moving into a care home is a big change, but strong relationships help residents settle and feel secure. Family and friends are a large part of this transition. Regular visits, calls and shared moments reduce elderly loneliness and support emotional wellbeing. These connections remind residents that they are still part of their family and community despite not being at home. Our care home support team also build close supportive relationships with each resident. So everyone feels known and understood.
We place physical activity and social interaction at the centre of daily life at all of our care home at Tanglewood. We design activities for our elderly residents around their interests, abilities and preferences, so they feel relevant and enjoyable to them. Residents are able to join group events, pursue hobbies and spend time with others who share similar interests. These experiences build friendships, create routing and give our residents a sense of purpose. We know that when residents stay active and engaged, they not only feel more at home, they feel more confident and better supported in their overall wellbeing.

Located next to the iconic Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, our Nottingham care home offers 72 luxury en-suite bedrooms. We provide high-quality residential, dementia, respite, and palliative care in a setting that features a bistro café, cinema, and a rooftop terrace with stunning views.
