At Meadows Park Care Home, excitement filled the air as everyone eagerly anticipated another in-house competition—this time, it was their very own Olympics within the Tanglewood Group. The introduction of Nerf guns quickly became a new favorite among both staff and residents, with everyone lining up to take their shot. There were some impressive scores, along with a few near misses—especially when Marsha missed the target and accidentally hit carer Helen. Sam emerged as the highest-scoring staff member, and no matter how hard everyone tried, they just couldn’t beat her.
In addition to the Nerf gun competition, everyone enjoyed a lively game of putting golf. The highlight of the game came when Chris scored a hole-in-one, prompting cheers from the entire room. Another crowd favorite was the staff relay race, with all the staff eager to participate. Liam’s leg of the race was the fastest, clocking in at an impressive 15.09 seconds. Residents gathered outside to cheer on the staff, and the event concluded with a fun wheelchair race and refreshing ice lollies.
Adding to the excitement, Meadows Park also hosted a table tennis competition as part of the games they were competing in against other care homes. The match featured Marsha, one of the residents, facing off against Ryan, the head chef. It was a close match, with Marsha taking an early lead, but Ryan soon caught up. The final score was 15/14, with Ryan narrowly winning the game.
