Meadows Park held their fair alongside an in-house scarecrow competition. The residents had great fun making the scarecrows and watching them come to life with the guidance of Ralph’s daughter, Val, who had made them before. In total, they made 10 scarecrows and placed them around the garden for people to admire at the fair. Votes were cast on Saturday, and they were pleased to announce the winner, Mike, at the residents’ meeting on Sunday.
The fair was also a great success. Visitors enjoyed a sunny afternoon with live entertainment from the Midnight Ramblers while savoring ice cream or a Meadows Park special from the BBQ. There was plenty for children to enjoy, including a bouncy castle and games like hook-a-duck and lucky dip. The raffle was a hit, and the water and wine stall also proved very popular. The Louth Dog Walker joined and held a dog show, which was another crowd-pleaser.
One of the highlights was the stocks, where visitors could soak the staff, leading to lots of laughs and a good queue. Overall, it was a wonderful day, and Meadows Park raised £885.30 for the residents’ fund.
