Meadows Park Care Home has been spreading a little autumn magic throughout the local community with a fun-filled scarecrow competition, inviting residents, local businesses and community members to showcase their creativity and take part in a seasonal celebration.
The free competition encouraged people of all ages to get involved by creating their very own homemade scarecrows, bringing together a wonderful mix of imagination, teamwork and autumn spirit.
Entries came from a variety of participants, including the Boots Pharmacy team, local district nurses, Freya and Maia, and the Meadows Park team. Each scarecrow was brought to the care home, where the fantastic creations were proudly displayed before being shared on the home’s Facebook page for the public to vote for their favourite.
The competition quickly captured the attention of the local community, with plenty of likes, comments and support for the imaginative entries. The voting proved to be a closely fought contest, with every scarecrow bringing something unique to the competition.
After much anticipation, the winners were announced as Freya and Maia, whose fantastic scarecrow, Ginger, proved a firm favourite with the public. Their creative entry secured the winning title, earning them well-deserved recognition for their brilliant efforts.
The competition brought plenty of smiles and seasonal excitement to Meadows Park, providing a wonderful opportunity for people to come together, share their talents and enjoy a little friendly competition.
At Meadows Park Care Home, building strong relationships with the local community is an important part of everyday life. Events such as the scarecrow competition offer a fun and inclusive way to connect with local businesses, healthcare professionals and community members, creating opportunities for collaboration and shared enjoyment.
The team would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to create a scarecrow, submit an entry and cast their votes. The enthusiasm and support shown throughout the competition helped make it such a success.
Congratulations to Freya and Maia on their winning scarecrow, Ginger! A special thank you also goes to everyone who participated and helped bring a little extra autumn magic to Meadows Park.
The competition was a wonderful reminder that sometimes the simplest ideas can bring people together, strengthen community connections and create lasting memories.
