Toray Pines Care Home has joined forces with Lincolnshire County Council Occupational Therapists to introduce group sessions held every other Wednesday at our facility. Jane and Jo Lifestyle Co-ordinator initially connected after attending 1:1 appointments with our residents. Both parties were eager to integrate their routines to promote regular exercise, aiding in rehabilitation and enhancing coordination to reduce the risk of falls.
Today marked the inaugural session held jointly, with lively music setting the tone and attendance reaching impressive numbers. We engaged in stretching exercises and elevated our heart rates by volleying balloons, working up a sweat while having fun.
As part of our project goals, we aim to develop a new routine to benefit future 1:1 appointments between the OT and our residents. Additionally, we’re seizing the opportunity to incorporate their expertise to enhance our in-house activities.
