Humberston House Care Home welcomed residents, families, friends and members of the local community for its annual Summer Fair, creating a memorable day filled with fun, laughter and community spirit.
Despite a little drizzle, the event attracted a fantastic turnout, with visitors of all ages enjoying the warm atmosphere and wide range of attractions on offer. The Summer Fair highlighted the strong community connections that make Humberston House such a special place to live and visit.
There was something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day. Children were especially excited by the face painting and bouncy castle, while residents and visitors spent time browsing stalls, meeting local businesses and enjoying the lively atmosphere.
The event created valuable opportunities for residents to spend time with loved ones, meet new people and enjoy a vibrant community celebration.
A variety of stall holders showcased and sold their handmade products, offering everything from artisan crafts to delicious baked goods. Visitors enjoyed discovering unique gifts and supporting local makers while contributing to a worthwhile cause.
The raffle, tombola and popular water-or-wine game proved particularly successful, drawing enthusiastic crowds throughout the day and helping raise valuable funds for residents.
One of the biggest achievements of the Summer Fair was raising an incredible £1,123 for the residents’ fund. These funds will help support future activities, outings and experiences designed to enhance residents’ wellbeing and quality of life.
Community events such as the Summer Fair help create meaningful opportunities for residents to stay engaged, social and connected while supporting the varied programme of activities available throughout the year.
We were delighted to receive so much positive feedback from attendees, many of whom commented on the welcoming atmosphere, dedicated team and strong sense of community throughout the home.
The success of the event would not have been possible without the support of volunteers, stall holders, visitors and everyone who generously donated their time, prizes and contributions.
At Humberston House Care Home, we believe meaningful experiences, social events and community engagement play an important role in supporting resident wellbeing.
Whether residents are enjoying special events, regular activities or personalised care, our team is committed to creating a welcoming environment where people can thrive.
