This week one of our residents left Sandpiper to move closer to his family in Grimsby.
The home arranged a small leaving party for Keith, to say goodbye to the team and the friends he has made during his time with us. A wonderful cake was created by our Kitchen Team along with a buffet style spread.
Keith has a witty sense of humour and is a kind character and we have absolutely loved having him stay with us.
When Keith first came to sandpiper, he felt very anxious, and it took some time for him to feel settled, when chatting with the lifestyles team Keith expressed that the one thing that helped him feel less anxious was being able to write.
Our lifestyles immediately went and found Keith a notebook and he started to put pen to paper and went on to begin to write his life story. Keith felt this was a good way for him to reflect and express himself and it would create a keepsake for his family.
Keith commented, ‘This won’t be the last you hear from me. You will one day be able to buy my book.’
The whole team at Sandpiper want to wish Keith all the very best, it has been a pleasure. We are also going to be keeping an eye out for a very special autobiography.
