Tanglewood Care Home have united this month to take on a heart-warming challenge: knitting a scarf long enough to wrap around the entire home, all in support of Dementia UK.
Residents and community members of all ages have joined in, from 10-year-old Amy Simons to 99-year-old Olive Rodgers. Knitters can be found everywhere—at home, at the Louth Nipper, and even at the local pub—each adding their own stitches to the ever-growing scarf.
The project has quickly become a symbol of togetherness, creativity, and kindness. Participants are sharing stories, laughter, and a shared determination to support families affected by dementia.
Organisers have expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone contributing. “We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who is helping or has helped,” they said. “This has truly become a community effort.”
As the scarf continues to grow, so does the incredible community spirit behind it—showing that when people come together, they can create something truly remarkable.
