Head Chef Andy Pridmore will mark his 31st Christmas Day working in care this year. Andy, 47, lives in Spalding and began his career at just 16. He remains a valued member of the team at Cedar Falls Care Home.
Andy will work alongside Deputy Head Chef Sarah Pell, 44, to prepare a traditional Christmas Day dinner for residents at our Spalding care home. Together, they will serve a festive meal with all the trimmings.
Cedar Falls Care Home in Spalding has supported the Lincolnshire community since 1992. The home provides high-quality residential and nursing care in a warm, welcoming setting.

Sarah, a mother of three, has worked at Cedar Falls for 28 years. She says the festive season brings particular joy.
“Christmas is magical, from the build-up to the day itself. I love seeing residents enjoy their Christmas dinner. Being part of that celebration means a lot to me.”
Andy has spent 22 years as Head Chef at Cedar Falls. During that time, he has prepared thousands of fresh, home-cooked meals for residents and their families.
“I’ve cooked for many residents and their families over the years. It’s a privilege to care for them, and I look forward to cooking another Christmas meal they’ll enjoy.”
Although both chefs have families of their own, they say the residents and staff feel like family, especially at Christmas.
This year’s Christmas menu includes a traditional roast dinner with all the trimmings, followed by orange and cinnamon rice pudding. Residents have named it a firm favourite.
Strong relationships often grow beyond the kitchen at Cedar Falls. Andy met his wife, Rebecca, while they both worked at the home. After the celebrations, Sarah will spend the rest of Christmas Day with her children, aged 24, 14, and 12.
Andy and Sarah have worked together for more than 20 years. They ensure residents enjoy good food, meaningful activities, and festive traditions each Christmas. One memorable year even saw staff perform a Cinderella pantomime, with Andy playing one of the Ugly Stepsisters.
Deputy Manager Maxine Winch praised the chefs’ commitment.
“Andy and Sarah bring joy to the home all year round. Their creativity, care, and dedication make Christmas special for everyone. We are incredibly proud of them.”
Andy says the relationships he has built over the years make Christmas at the Spalding care home especially meaningful.
“I’ve grown up in my career with these people. We’ve shared so many Christmases together. They really are like family.”
