Launching Our 2025 Winter Warmer Initiative to Tackle the Cost of Living

As the nights draw in, the clocks go back and the cost of staying warm rises, we know that many in our local community face an anxious winter. The financial strain of rising energy costs and food prices affects many older adults and vulnerable neighbours. At Tanglewood Care Homes, our mission centres on Warmth of Care. In the winter months, we extend it beyond our residents to the whole community. 

That is why we are launching the Tanglewood Winter Warmer Initiative and inviting local residents aged 65 and over to join us at all 20 of our UK care homes. Our goal is to provide a reliable, warm haven and ensure you enjoy a nutritious, hot meal without worry. 

What’s Included in Tanglewood Winter Warmers?  

This care home initiative directly tackles the twin pressures of cold and cost by serving warm, nourishing meals in a safe, heated environment. Our experienced in-house kitchen team prepares wholesome, high-quality meals (up to three times a week) to deliver essential nutrition without the added expense of cooking. We’ve catered safely for specific dietary needs for years.

Our care home provides a consistent, comfortable environment to escape the cold. You can enjoy your meal and connect with others without worrying about the heating bill at home.

Isolated Communities

More than just food, this is a chance for community connection. Sharing a meal helps develop friendships and ensure no one feels isolated or forgotten this winter. 

For years, our home has prioritised the health and well-being of our residents, particularly during the challenging winter months. We are applying this expertise in nutrition, hygiene, and safe, warm environments directly to support our community. 

To help us maintain a safe environment and prevent food waste, all places for the Winter Warmer Initiative must be pre-booked.
