There are four private bungalows in the grounds of Tanglewood Horncastle care home on Louth Road. They are for people who would like a home of their own with care on hand, rather than a home care service visiting them. You live there as a resident of the home.

That might be you on your own, with your own place and a team nearby when you need them. It might be you and your husband or wife, moving together. Either way you are a resident here, with the same care supporting you as you would have in the main home.

Can couples stay together in a care home?

With us, yes. The move somewhere is a big decision, with the Tanglewood Horncastle bungalows, you make the decision together. You have built a life together, and with the bungalows you’re able to carry on with it. From your morning routine to your favourite chair by the window.

Each of you has your own Personalised Care Plan, as couples rarely need the same things at the same time and one of you may need more care than the other. Because the plans are separate, you are able to stay together as things change.

What’s included in the bungalow’s weekly fee?

One fixed weekly fee covers your care and all your meals, which our chefs cook and bring over to you. Laundry and cleaning are taken care of, and you are welcome to join in with anything on in the home. Hairdressing and chiropody are charged separately.

Is care available 24 hours a day?

Every bungalow has a call bell, and the Tanglewood Horncastle care team are on site through the night. You keep your privacy and your own space, and if something happens at three in the morning, somebody who knows you and your Care Plan is a short walk away. For most families, that is a comforting part of life in the bungalows.

A bungalow suits you if you would like a place of your own, with care there for the days you need it. Couples find it works particularly well, especially where one of you needs more support than the other.

If you need more hands-on help than that, say so when you ring. Residential or nursing care in the main home may be the better fit, and we would rather tell you that now than six months down the line.

Are pets allowed at the care home?

Pets are welcome, at the home manager’s say-so. Give us a ring and we will talk it through.
