Avocet House Care Home Residents Strike Joy at Boston Bowl

Residents of Avocet House, our care home in Boston, Lincolnshire, had a fantastic day out at Boston Bowl, where excitement was palpable in the lead-up to the event. Anticipation filled the air, as familiar memories of ten-pin bowling sparked spirited discussions about techniques, strategies, and good-natured rivalry among friends.

Upon arrival, the residents divided into two eagerly competitive teams. With the perfect sized bowling balls in hand, the friendly match kicked off with enthusiasm. Mary and Linda swiftly found their groove, pulling ahead with impressive half strikes that had everyone cheering. The competition was fierce and equally matched, but the true surprise came when Sylvia, the self-proclaimed “dark horse” of the day, got into the zone during the final rounds. With a swift sleight of hand, she earned a half strike, surprising her opponents and clinching the game in a stunning comeback by a mere eight points.

Throughout the morning, the laughter echoed across the bowling alley. Refreshing drinks provided amid the game ensured everyone stayed hydrated and feeling great.

On the bus journey back, spirited discussions about the events of the day continued. Enthusiasm for bowling and delightful memories lingered long after leaving the alley. Residents found joy in their shared experience, recounting snippets of moments they enjoyed, a testament to the enriching adventures at Avocet House.
