Avocet House Raises a Cheer for Local Young Footballers

Avocet House Care Home is always delighted to support local causes, community groups and organisations that make a difference to the lives of people in the local area.

Recently, the team at Avocet House hosted a wonderful afternoon tea event to raise funds for Kirton Town Junior Football Club, helping the club towards the cost of much-needed new football kits and resources for its young players.

The idea came about after Avocet House’s Head Chef mentioned that his son plays for the club and that the team was looking for support to help provide the youngsters with the equipment they need. Keen to do their bit for such a worthwhile local cause, the team at Avocet House quickly got behind the fundraising effort and organised a special afternoon tea in aid of the club.

Residents, relatives, friends and members of the local community gathered in Avocet House’s beautiful tearoom to enjoy a delicious spread prepared by the home’s talented kitchen team. Guests were treated to an impressive selection of homemade sandwiches, cakes and sweet treats, with Prosecco and non-alcoholic alternatives also served to make the afternoon extra special.

The event provided the perfect opportunity for everyone to come together, enjoy some good food and conversation, and show their support for the young footballers of Kirton Town.

The team at Avocet House is delighted to announce that the afternoon tea raised an amazing £170, which will go towards helping the club purchase new kit and resources for its budding football stars.
