What a fantastic day was experienced at Avocet House during our American Day! The residents and team embraced the spirit of the Wild West, donning their cowboy attire and bringing the lively atmosphere right to Boston, Lincolnshire. Laughter and cheer filled the air as everyone bonded while riding around on trusted hobby horses named Ned, Red Rum, and My Little Pony. The delightful sounds of hoedown shenanigans echoed throughout the home.
Joining in on the excitement was the fabulous Elly from Be Great Fitness, who brought her cowboy charisma and enthusiasm to the session, complete with a western hat! The residents participated wholeheartedly in a themed workout, filled with energy and movement reminiscent of Texas. The lounge buzzed with the joy of exercise as hats were on and reins in hand, happiness radiated from everyone present.
The fun continued as residents made and savoured delicious American-style pancakes. Appealing smells wafted from the kitchen where the talented team had prepared a menu of mouthwatering delights that transported taste buds stateside. Pulled pork baps offered a savoury indulgence, while the red velvet cake emerged as a delightful favourite.
The day culminated in a captivating performance by the remarkable duo, Nicky and Neil from Clearer Productions. The lounge filled with melodies as residents joyfully clapped and tapped along to cherished Broadway hits. Each moment resonated with positivity, turning asphalt into memories that will be cherished. Heartfelt smiles graced everyone’s faces after such a delightful day.
