Avocet House Care Home Raises Funds and Spirits for Children in Need

Avocet House Care Home proudly participated in this year’s Children in Need appeal on Friday 14 November, bringing together staff and residents for a day filled with fun, laughter, and community spirit. Staff embraced the occasion by donning pyjamas, Pudsey T-shirts, and Pudsey ears, helping to raise vital funds—and plenty of smiles—throughout the home.

The event also included a popular bake sale, featuring delicious homemade cakes prepared by the kitchen team and
served with hot chocolate in exchange for donations to the charity.
Residents were delighted to join the festivities, enjoying the cheerful atmosphere as staff paraded through the home
in their PJs and slippers.

“At Avocet House, we’re always ready to dress up, have fun, and support important causes, ” said Tracey Klue, Home Manager. “Giving back to the community is at the heart of what we do.”

This year, Avocet House Care Home has supported several major charities, including Macmillan Cancer Support, Breast Cancer Awareness, Dementia UK, Help for Heroes, and Parkinson’s charities. The home also continues to champion local initiatives through winter warmer campaigns, food bank contributions, and community fundraising efforts.

Avocet House Care Home remains committed to its tradition of charitable giving and creating joyful moments for both residents and the wider community.
