Although Mount Croft is one of the newest additions to the Tanglewood family, it has already developed a warm and welcoming community.
From the day residents arrive, life is shaped around helping people settle in, build friendships and enjoy the moments that make each day their own.
Animals have quickly become some of the home’s most popular visitors. During A Woof-tastic Day at Mount Croft residents spent time with four-legged friends, enjoying cuddles, conversation and plenty of smiles.
The excitement continued when alpacas visited the home giving everyone the chance to enjoy an experience that was a little out of the ordinary and one that quickly became the talking point of the day.
The changing seasons always bring something new to look forward to. Easter Wonderland transformed the home with colourful decorations, themed activities and time for families to celebrate together.
Later in the year, VE Day became an opportunity to reflect, share memories and celebrate an important moment in British history together.
Giving something back is just as important. During Children in Need residents and the team came together to raise money while enjoying a day filled with fun, laughter and community spirit.
Spending time in the local community is another important part of life at Mount Croft. During a visit to the Botanical Gardens residents enjoyed the fresh air, changing scenery and relaxed time together surrounded by nature.
Moving into a care home is a significant step, and feeling at home matters from day one. Joyce Elliot’s new chapter at Mount Croft reflects the warm welcome every new resident receives, with friendships and familiar routines helping people settle into life at the home.
Whether it’s meeting alpacas, exploring the Botanical Gardens or celebrating alongside family and friends, it’s often these shared moments that residents remember most.
Together, they help make Mount Croft a place where people quickly feel part of the community and truly at home.
Mount Croft is more than a place to live—it’s a community where residents are supported to build new friendships, maintain their independence and enjoy meaningful experiences every day. Whether welcoming new residents, taking part in fundraising or exploring the local area, the focus is always on helping people feel connected and valued.
The home takes great pride in helping new residents settle comfortably into life at Mount Croft. Stories like Joyce Elliot’s move to the home demonstrate the personalised approach taken to ensure every resident feels welcomed, supported and quickly becomes part of the community.
Residents also enjoy opportunities to remain active within the wider community. A visit to the Botanical Gardens provided a relaxing day surrounded by nature, encouraging gentle exercise, conversation and shared experiences while making the most of the beautiful outdoor setting.
Giving back is equally important. Residents and team members proudly supported Children in Need, coming together for fundraising activities that combined fun with community spirit while raising money for an important national charity.
Alongside these community initiatives, Mount Croft continues to provide a varied programme of seasonal events, animal visits and social activities that help residents stay engaged, make new memories and enjoy every day. By combining personalised care with meaningful experiences, Mount Croft creates a warm, welcoming environment where residents can truly feel at home while remaining connected to the community around them.
