One recent outing saw residents visit the local garden centre before enjoying another relaxed afternoon over lunch at The Countryman Pub.

During the Virtual Cruise Adventure residents enjoyed an afternoon inspired by life at sea, while National Beach Day brought the sights, sounds and memories of the British seaside indoors.

One of the highlights is welcoming younger generations into the home. During a visit from Cloverfields School residents enjoyed sharing stories, taking part in activities and getting to know the pupils, creating friendships that both generations looked forward to continuing.

The home is always looking for new ways to help everyone feel included.

Learning Makaton together has helped residents and the team communicate with even greater confidence while making everyday interactions more accessible for everyone. Initiatives like these demonstrate the home’s commitment to ensuring every resident can participate fully in activities and social interactions.

New community partnerships continue to bring fresh faces and experiences into the home.

From helping create the Humberston House Dream Tree where hopes and aspirations were celebrated, to taking part in community tree planting initiatives giving residents the chance to leave their own mark while working together on projects that benefit everyone.

The year begins with traditional celebrations such as our annual Burns Night event where residents enjoy Scottish-inspired food, music and companionship. As spring arrives, the home comes alive through our Easter celebrations followed by more Easter family activities bringing generations together through seasonal crafts, treats and shared experiences.

Throughout the warmer months, residents enjoy welcoming family members, neighbours and visitors to larger community events. Our summer festival, community summer fair and family picnic celebration all provide opportunities to enjoy live entertainment, delicious food and time with loved ones while strengthening connections with the local community.

Seasonal traditions continue throughout the year with residents embracing our Halloween celebrations, commemorating history during our VE Day celebration and welcoming the festive period through the Humberston House Christmas Fair. Residents also enjoy marking the arrival of each new season, including welcoming June together, ensuring there is always something exciting to anticipate.
