At Richard House, we’re all about discovering the vibrant tapestry of our residents’ interests, those quirks and passions that make each of them tick and the stories that painted their lives before they became part of our incredible family. Some may shout out “gardening,” while others might reminisce about their invigorating long walks that kept them on their toes. And then there’s Marlene, who’s danced to the beat of a different drum – the delightful world of feline friends.
You see, Marlene’s love for cats has been a lifelong serenade. But when she first arrived at our care home, she faced the heart-wrenching task of finding a new, loving home for her beloved cat, Phebe. It tugged at her heartstrings, and we knew we needed to find a way to bring that familiar warmth back into Marlene’s life. So, the hunt began to find her a purr-fect match that would speak to her heart, and the solution? Cats, of course!
With a little creative thinking and a dash of feline finesse, we managed to weave Marlene’s love for cats into her life once more. We’re ecstatic to share that we’ve partnered with the fantastic Rescue Of Cats and Kittens, lovingly known as “ROCK.” They’ve opened their doors, and more importantly, their hearts, to our dear Marlene. Now, Marlene gets to spend precious hours with the charming cats who are eagerly waiting to find their forever homes.
We tip our hats to Cath, the wonderful soul who orchestrates the magic at ROCK. Her generosity and kindness have made it possible for Marlene to revisit her dear feline friends, and for that, we’re ever so grateful. It’s heartwarming stories like these that make our care home a place of joy, connection, and boundless love.
Marlene’s story reminds us that no matter where life takes us, there’s always a way to reconnect with our dearest passions and find happiness in the simplest of moments. So here’s to Marlene and her newfound feline companions – may their days together be filled with love, laughter, and endless purrs!
