Debra Carr, Activities Coordinator of Toray Pines has a challenge on her hands.  Last August Debra announced her latest fund raising campaign.  Debra plans to raise a whopping £2300.00 by August 2010.  The funds raised will purchase a Sensory Kit and a Home Cinema for Toray Pines residents to enjoy. 

To date, Debra and Toray Pines staff have completed a Sponsored Walk, held a Craft Fayre and enjoyed a Quiz Night.  The Home also has an ongoing Bring and Buy Book resource.  For this staff are encouraged to bring in their unwanted books, these are then resold to staff and visitors at the reasonable price of 50p.

Debra’s next sponsored event is a Static Bike Ride to be held during March.  The Home will use an Exercise Bike situated in the Homes reception area.  Staff will take turns to complete a 103 mile ride that represents aTanglewood Care Home round trip; Toray Pines through to Hunters Creek, Cedar Falls, Sandpiper, Tanglewood and back to Toray Pines.

So far, the grand sum of £630.00 has been raised.  Debra expects to raise most of the money during the summer months.
